DAY 2. Vic Falls
The Victoria Falls is 150 million years old! A truly awe-inspiring experience – the sight, sounds, the smell, the feeling that this may indeed be nature’s supreme masterpiece. Nothing prepares one for your first sight of it. On this guided tour, you will be accompanied through the rainforest by a qualified guide who will give a brief history of the area themselves as well as detailing the flora, fauna, bird and wildlife and other points of interest. We return to the hotel later or you can do our own exploring.
Early evening you are transferred to the Boma Place of Eating. This is not just another ethnic restaurant but a rather unique cultural experience. You will be greeted in local languages and invited to take part in a hand washing ceremony before sampling traditional beer and snacks before dinner. Excellent cuisine, including a variety of game meats and traditional Zimbabwean dishes are on offer. The meal is accompanied by entertainment throughout the meal from traditional dancers, the storyteller and a local witchdoctor who is available for fortune-telling. After dinner, the Sangoma tells tales of the country’s folklore, culture and heritage. The highlight of the evening is the interactive drumming and dancing, so come prepared to participate. Afterwards you are transferred to your hotel. Overnight at the A’Zambezi River Lodge.
