Johannesburg is the largest city of South Africa. It's been given a few endearing names such as Jozi, Jo’burg, eGoli, and Joeys. After a modest beginning as a mining town, the city has grown onto the region's financial hub. It's also the provincial capital of Gauteng and falls within the 50 largest urban agglomerations in the world. Johannesburg is also southern Africa's hub for air travel into the region. Many of our local and regional travel packages start and end here.
Port Elizabeth, officially renamed Gqeberha, is known amongst the locals as PE and is also called Nelson Mandela Bay. It is one of South Africa’s large cities situated along the south-eastern coast of the country. Often referred to as the ‘Friendly City’ it is primarily a holiday destination with open sandy beaches and temperate weather. PE is the economic hub for the locals in the area and further inland. The city also effectively demarcates the eastern border of the scenic Garden Route and places itself as a perfect beginning or end to a tour through this scenic wonderland! We conduct multi-day garden route tours with daily departures from here or Cape Town.
Durban is situated on the sub-tropical eastern coastline of South Africa. It's synonymous with balmy weather (even in Winter) and beautiful golden sandy beaches. The city is home to an extraordinary cultural diversity of African, Eastern and Colonial heritage. The city is often called South Africa's cultural melting pot. It is the destination of family fun on the beaches, street markets and eateries, offering a huge culinary diversity - often with a prominent Indian flavour. The famous Bunny Chow, a curry and bread dish, originated from here! It's an international air and sea entry port and gateway to excellent safari opportunities. The highest mountains in southern Africa, some of the world's highest forested dunes, the first world heritage site in South Africa, African bush teamed with wildlife, breathtaking scenery and tropical beauty are all part of destinations within three hours' drive from the city!

Unfortunately we were unable to do Johannesburg due to an ice storm in Toronto that delayed our trip and tour. As we arrived we were flown to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe for amazing 2 days view of the falls.
Taki was our tour guide who picked us up for the most amazing tour. Our stay at Skukuza camp was comfortable and the meals were delicious. During these 5 days he was driving us to the most "memorable, picturesque” photo-spots to see elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos. We were able to take plenty of good photos. Taki was so knowledge about Kruger’s birds and mammals. After an early morning game drive we left and entered the escarpment of Mpumalanga. He was showing us the most stunning places of the Panoramic Route (Lisbon Falls, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s window, Blyde River Canyon, and many more). As a group we like to thank Taki for his kind, polite, open-minded and a competent man who has done his best to reveal to us the beauty and magnificence of African wildlife! Keep in touch. We were dropped off and on our flight to Cape.
In the morning we were picked up by Barry another interesting guide who drove us around, Cape Town City, Table Mountain, Cape Peninsula, Robben Island, etc and a wine tour before we departed on our garden route which was well planned. Beautiful coastal route to Mossel Bay visiting the oldest post office tree 1488. Particularly worth a mention is our stay at the beautiful La Plume, Oudtshoorn. The accommodations at La Plume were very high quality and luxurious. The ostrich fillet at La Plume is a must-try. Cango caves and Knysna, Tsitsikamma National Park etc on our last stop Port Elizabeth.
We were picked up by our guide Jac who was our guide who drove the wild West Coast. Before leaving PE we wanted to visit a hindu temple and Jac’s tireless effort of finding the Murugan temple for us. Stopped at the Addo Elephant Park etc before entering KwaZulu Natal in the south on the way to Durban. Visited the most amazing Oribi Gorge, Lehr’s fall.
Next day off to Drakensberg Mountains stopping on the way, at the train station where Ghandi was thrown off, Howick Falls and where Mandela was arrested etc and a overnight stay. In the morning we set off to Sani Pass on a four wheel drive with hair raising bends and breath- taking views. Our guide was Lucky who was an excellent driver who had to maneuver those sharp corners. We entered Lesotho – referred to as the Kingdom where lunch was served 3000m above sea level. View was amazing.
The tour was well planned (25 days) and gave us everything we could have wanted, from spectacular scenery to all the animals. Accommodation options were very good in all the locations and our guides Taki, Barry and Jac were excellent. Very knowledgeable and interesting.
