Touch of Wildlife 1 Day Durban Safari (Code: SCDU)

Depart early from Durban on this full day safari and travel north through sugar cane fields towards the sub‑tropical coast and bushveld of Zululand. We arrive at Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve, the oldest reserve in Africa and where the white rhino was saved from extinction, to start our game viewing.  This reserve is home to over 90 species of mammals amongst other wildlife including the “Big Five”(lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo). There is also an excellent chance to see the shy nyala. We enjoy lunch at Hilltop camp and embark on another game viewing drive in the afternoon before returning to Durban early evening. The duration of this day tour is around 10 – 12 hours, an extraordinary experience where one has the chance to see the Big Five amongst an abundance of other wildlife in one day! There is little to top a close encounter with a lion kill, or an elephant walking next to the vehicle or a white rhino and her calf strolling into the road in front of you! An optional open vehicle safari can be joined, otherwise the game viewing is done in the comfort of our air-conditioned vehicle with our very informative crew. You will certainly feel that you have been out on a day safari in the wild! NOTE: We also offer a two-day and three-day tours into the same area. These tours obviously offer a better chance to encounter more of the animals found here in their natural habitat.
