6 Day Great African Wildlife Expedition (Code: SCMD)

The Great Wildlife Expedition includes some of the most scenic areas in the country, but the main focus is on the almost 5 days of  wildlife viewing including two private reserves and the famous Kruger National Park. It also includes a boat cruise on Lake St Lucia, situated in the iSimangaliso world heritage site! The scenery includes the Panorama Route, Swaziland mountains and the Zululand forests and lakes. DAY 1. Johannesburg – Panoramic Route (Wildlife Safari Tour) Our first day on this amazing wildlife safari tour takes us from Johannesburg via Middelburg, Dullstroom and Robber’s Pass to Pilgrim´s Rest, the early gold mining town turned into a living museum. Rich deposits of alluvial gold were found here at the end of the 19th century, hence the existence of the town deep in the mountains. After exploring this quaint old town, we continue to Sabie where we have a pleasant walk through indigenous forest to visit Lone Creek Falls Overnight Ligna Lodge. (Dinner included). DAY 2. Panoramic Route – Private Reserve After breakfast, travel via Graskop to marvel at scenic areas such the Pinnacle, God’s Window and Lisbon Falls. Then on to Bourke’s Luck Potholes (a walk down the hill to this unique trick of nature is worth the effort), and the magnificent Three Rondavels view site at the Blyde River Canyon. We walk along the cliffs to really appreciate the breathtaking views.  Later, we descend to the Lowveld via Abel Erasmus pass and the Strijdom Tunnel. Arrive at Mohlabetsi in the Balule private game reserve,  a part of the Greater Kruger National Park. This afternoon our encounter with Africa’s wildlife begins as we travel on an open vehicle to search for the game. Enjoy a great dinner under the stars tonight (weather permitting). 3 Day Victoria Falls Tour

DAY 1. Johannesburg – Livingstone – Victoria Falls tour This Victoria Falls tour commences from Johannesburg with a flight from the O R Tambo International Airport to Livingstone Airport and transferred to your hotel. This afternoon you have the opportunity to explore the area on your own. Overnight at the Avani Victoria Falls Resort.  (Departures from Cape Town and Durban is possible with added flights). DAY 2. Victoria Falls The Victoria Falls is in its 150 millionth fantastic year! Truly awe-inspiring experience – the sight, the sound, the smell, the humbling feeling that this may indeed be nature’s supreme masterpiece. Nothing prepares one for your first sight of the falls. On this guided tour, you will be accompanied through the rainforest by a qualified guide who will give a brief history of the Falls themselves as well as detailing the flora, fauna, bird and wildlife and other points of interest. We return to the hotel later or you can do our own exploring. Later this afternoon embark on a 2-hour Sundowner Cruise. We enjoy finger snacks, beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks on the Zambezi River. The cruise is a superb way to relax and enjoy the beauty of the river. You have the opportunity to see a variety of game including hippo, crocodile, elephant and sometimes even rhino! Overnight at the hotel. 3. Victoria Falls – Johannesburg – Return Flight After breakfast you can do and some last-minute exploring on your own such as optional flights by helicopter or fixed wing aircraft. Then you are transferred to the local airport for your flight to Johannesburg arriving mid-afternoon.

Private Game Reserve – Kruger National Park After an early morning hike, searching for the wild on foot, and breakfast we enter the Kruger National Park and spend the rest of day in this magnificent reserve around 2 million ha in extent. DAY 4. Kruger National Park  – Swaziland We rise early for a game drive and return for breakfast in the camp. We spend the rest of the morning in the reserve.  In the afternoon travel the mountain Kingdom of Swaziland. We visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory. Travel further via Mbabane, the capital city of Swaziland to our hotel in the mountains at Mhlambanyatsi. Overnight Forester’s Arms. DAY 5.
